Fried chicken from a cast iron skillet is everyone’s favorite – but, oh, the cleanup. Oil and batter splattered all around the stove, countertop and sides. De-greasing all the surfaces isn’t that hard if there’s a little “wall” around the stove to keep the cooking mess in.
We designed two side cabinets that are 12” higher than the cooking surface; also, the back was raised 12” – with an overhang. A large wok works perfectly in this space.
The combination of IKEA wall cabinets, base cabinets and back panel are an unconventional design that solves a very conventional problem.
