How to take advantage of that space at your kitchen corners

IKEA White Adel Kitchen featuring L-shaped base corner cabinets and wall corner cabinets

Swing or Spin? In or Out?

When it comes to a corner just one must be chosen – if accessories are selected.  So, if the accessories are opted for, then it’s either Swing, Spin or Out.  A corner without an accessory is an “In” because one must open the cabinet door and reach in for stored goods.

However, a corner cabinet becomes an “Out” once an accessory is placed inside the cabinet – because the door must be opened and the accessory is pulled out along with any stored goods. Of course, not having to root around within the dark recesses of a corner cabinet is welcomed by anyone.  Though, comfort has its price – there’s less capacity for storage in a corner cabinet with an accessory versus one with just shelves.

A pullout swivel makes access easier for this base corner (blind) cabinet.

Carousels offer 360° for this base corner (easy reach) cabinet or wall corner (diagonal) cabinet

What provides the greatest actual shelving space? Carousel or pull-out swivel?
